Jeffrey Herlings takes the British MX1 title
At the Preston Docks circuit, Jeffrey Herlings of the Red Bull KTM Factory team became British Champion MX1 last Sunday. Herlings managed to take the overall victory with a 2-1 in the heats and thus secured the title.
Herlings wasn’t fit at all for this last race of the championship. During the Turkish Grand Prix, he broke a number of ribs and this still bothers him. Despite this, Herlings wanted to go for the title and decided to travel to Great Britain.
In time practice, he had a good feeling on the track and managed to set the fastest time on the clock. This was followed by a second place in the first moto. In the second moto, Herlings took revenge and managed to take control of the race and won.
With a 2-1 in the motos, he won the day’s classification and secured his first British title. This weekend is the last race of the world championship for Herlings in Spain.
