Victory for Herlings at Lacapelle Marival
Jeffrey Herlings of the Red Bull KTM Factory team clocked his second event victory of the season at an international event at Lacapelle Marival in France. Herlings won both MX1 heats and the Superfinal for a clean sweep on the day.
After his sweeping victory at Hawkstone Park in England, Herlings was intent on building up his preparation for the world championship season at yet another international event. He started the day off well by claiming pole position. He was unstoppable on the day, and after sweeping to victory in both MX1 heats, he overcame a lesser start in the Superfinal to get the better of Max Anstie and claim that crown as well,
“It was a great weekend,” Herlings commented. “I felt good on the bike and on the track. We had a lot of riding to do today, but that suited me fine. In the superfinal I had some work to do, coming back from fifth to the front. The bike is just perfect at the moment, and I have to thank the Red Bull KTM team for all their hard work. I appreciate all their efforts, and can’t wait to get stuck into the GP season.”
Herlings will continue his preparations for the first round of the MXGP world championships which start on 4 March at Neuquen in Argentina.
